Sweden to merge Digg and PTS into new digitalization agency
On December 11, 2025, the Swedish Ministry of Finance announced it has tasked Digg (the Agency for Digital Government) and PTS (the Post and Telecom Authority) to prepare for a merge. The decision aims to strengthen Sweden’s digital infrastructure and support implementation of upcoming EU digitalization legislation.
Sweden prepares for ViDA: NSD requests national inquiry on e-invoicing implementation
In light of the EU’s approval of VAT in the Digital Age (ViDA) directive, the Tax Delegation of the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise (Näringslivsskattedelegationen, NSD) has formally requested that the Swedish government initiate a public inquiry into the national implementation of e-invoicing and digital reporting requirements. The NSD emphasizes that Sweden's specific approach will significantly affect businesses nationwide.
The Swedish Customs Authority adopts the Peppol invoicing standard
The Swedish Customs Authority (Tullverket) adopts the Peppol BIS Billing 3 format starting March 1, 2025. The Peppol invoices will replace the current format, and customers who have been receiving invoices via EDI need to connect to the Peppol Network and register their Peppol ID with the customs authority.
