Regulatory updates - Cameroon

Cameroon’s introduction of mandatory real-time electronic invoicing, under the 2026 Finance Law, marks major strides toward digital tax administration and continuous transaction controls (CTC). With the newly introduced obligations, taxpayers must issue every invoice through an approved electronic invoicing system, covering taxable, VAT-exempt, and out-of-scope transactions. 

The Tax Administration is establishing a central e-Facturation (e-invoicing) platform, with approved service provider solutions allowed if they are interoperable and accredited. It is expected that the tax administration will publish an official list of all approved solution providers. 

Strict enforcement measures are in place, including the denial of expense deductibility and VAT credits for non-compliant invoices. Additionally, new fines for violations will be imposed. Taxpayers are expected to prepare for system integration and compliance changes, especially those operating across multiple African markets where similar digital tax controls are emerging.
